The Habbie Simpson Gowfin Society was proud to partner with the STAR Project in 2025 — an award-winning community organisation based in Paisley that has been tackling the impacts and stigma of poverty and deprivation since 1999.

Through their creative, connection-focused, and wellbeing-based programmes, STAR Project continues to build resilience and opportunity for local people across Renfrewshire. In 2025, our society was delighted to donate £1,000 in support of their mission to reduce isolation, empower individuals, and strengthen community spirit.

Treasurer Scott Bogle said:
“The work STAR Project does, particularly during challenging times, reflects the same values of teamwork, community, and local pride our society was founded on.”

Accepting the donation, Sharon McAulay, Chief Executive of the STAR Project, added:
“It’s fantastic to have the support of the Habbie Simpson Gowfin Society. Every pound will go towards providing vital support to individuals and families across Renfrewshire.”

Over the years, we’ve also been proud to support and partner with other local causes, including Erskine Veterans and St. Vincent’s Hospice, continuing our commitment to giving back to the wider community we’re part of.
